ACEMR - Complete Vehicle Energy Management

The overall aim for research is to develop and assess technologies for efficient vehicle energy management. New drive line technology such as stop and go, mild hybrid, and full hybridization combined with energy scavenging concepts will make energy available from several different sources. This will give rise to complex relationships between the different auxiliaries and how they are used within the different truck applications but also possibilities to balance the power need.

All subsystems and configurations should be considered, for both energy consumers and producers/converters. The driver demand should be  interpreted and influenced through a driver coaching system, taking into account the current mission and available preview information like e-horizon, V2V and V2I information. Energy losses (electrical, friction and aerodynamics) at subsystem level should be reduced or harvested. All this, of course, without compromising overall performance or safety.

The roundtable "Complete vehicle energy management" will take place on the 28th September 2011 at Novotel Aachen City. You will find the programme here. You can register here.
