Minister Ingrid Lieten and Volvo give production of electric and hybrid cars a strong push
The Institute for Science and Technology (IWT) approved a project on 5 May that brings the production of electric and hybrid cars in Flanders closer. IWT is a policy instrument of the Flemish Minister of Innovation, Ingrid Lieten, to stimulate Research and Development in all its aspects. In this concrete research and development project the Flemish Goverment invests almost 1.7 million euro in a collaboration between Volvo Cars Gent and Flanders' DRIVE to simplify the production process of hybrid and electric vehicles in a traditional car factory. The project was also presented on circuit Zolder during the official opening of Clean Week 2020.
