Project leader Clean Powertrains - electrification of vehicles

Your tasks:
As a project leader you work together on the concrete projects for the industry and you contribute to the competence building in the domain of Clean Powertrains at Flanders’ DRIVE. More specifically this means:
  • You lead and execute customer oriented research projects for the wide application of electrified powertrains and auxiliary power units in vehicles.
  • The construction of your expertise and its application concerns all aspects of specification, design, implementation, integration and validation of high-powered mechatronic systems for as well as in vehicles.
  • You realize the project objectives, make and guard the time schedule and deliver convincing results.
  • Therefore, you continuously guard the contents, costs and timing and report any bottlenecks and make correction plans.
  • You organize the communication structure, make appointments and follow the action points.
  • You deliver the needed status reports and presentations for the different partners.
  • You will work closely together with fellow researchers within Flanders' DRIVE and/or the researchers in the industry to realize project goals and deliver convincing results.
  • Together with the program manager, you develop a master plan, detailed project plans, the budget, deliverance deadline and the quality levels you want to realize.
  • You develop, implement and use methods and techniques in the domain of project management.

Your profile:

  • You are a civil engineer Energy Techniques and you have a minimum of 6 years of research experience in the industry. Experience in the vehicle industry is an asset.
  • You have a solid practical knowledge of electric powertrains, their control and design. Experience with system simulation environments like Matlab/Simulink and Amesim is an asset.
  • You have a passion for the newest mechatronic applications and vehicle techniques. Moreover, you dispose of excellent communication skills and have a talent to organize.
  • You have experience with project execution and you have developed a good project methodology.
  • You have a flexible personality, team spirit and you are punctual.
  • You have an excellent analytical ability and a creative mind. This enables you to transfer ideas into high tech solutions (in consultation with various stakeholders).
  • A customer oriented, operational and purposeful method is innate to you.
  • You love working in projects, especially as leader and initiative taker and with that, you have experience with the leading of projects of diverse stakeholders.
  • You have excellent inter-personal skills. You communicate in an open, fluent, persuasive and diplomatic way, and therefore, you can inspire your stakeholders.
